Watkins Glen Weekend (10/25/08)

Watkins Glen International... wow! I was pretty overwhelmed just by driving on the track. I think that started to wear off by the 3rd session as that was my best. This event was very exciting to attend, and another great track day thanks to SCDA. I even saw a number of people I know from NH including my friend Emily and her husband Penn, the only gal I know who is into track days like I am :) If only there was a track day every week my life would be complete.

I was very fortunate to once again snag a fellow S2000 driver as my instructor (see NHIS Sept 07). WGI is his home track and with his extensive driving experience there I think I learned quite a bit. I was busy making track notes at the end of the day so I have something to study up on over the winter.

I think I got to 110 or something close to that on the back straight... I did not spend much time looking at guages - the new beep alarm from Modifry was fantastic. I really wanted to master turn 9 because it was such a blast riding with someone who knew how to do it correctly, however I have to say that I did not. I guess that is going to be like turn 3 at NH - something to work on next time. I hope to be at the Glen again in April 08 to try again. 5th track day overall.
