Here's Ellen at the ocean, at Venice Beach, wearing her lucky shirt ;) Saw surfers waiting for the big wave, and saw some not so lucky who miscalculated the waves ;)

Not driving the S but it's my first time flying! Loved the take offs and nothing else was that scary either except wondering what landing would be like and that was a breeze. Only down side to flying is little seats and annoying people LOL!

MONDAY 8/4

Started out my trip Monday night staying with Dave and Dawn near Albany. Got an extra 45 minutes sleep that way! Thanks for the hospitality and awesome food!!! :)

TUESDAY 8/5

Patty picked me up at LAX a little after noon, flight was right on time. Got luggage (yeah!) and started sight seeing.

Had late lunch in Holllywood, then a late dinner of strawberries, nuts, cheese, shrimp and champagne! Wow, I could get used to being on vacation!

WEDNESDAY 8/6

So now it's Wednesday and I'm working hard ;) Worked hard getting the right amount of Kahlua in my coffee LOL! Then worked hard getting rid of my tan lines ;) I think Patty IS actually working, washing the S for a cruise later :)

Had fun driving around in the S with Patty. Went shopping, drove along Laguna Beach, went to dinner at a great Mexican place which made GREAT margaritas! Saw 2 more S2000s today for a total of 7 since I arrived in CA. Finishing the night with more champagne... actually I think I drank most of the bottle :D

THURSDAY 8/7

Last full day in Cali :( Another lazy morning, drinking coffee and working on getting rid of tan lines ;) Headed to Laguna Beach about 3 pm and it was totally awesome! Swam in the Pacific ocean for the first time :) Lazed around there for about an hour enjoying the surf and sun. I really would LOVE to stay here! :) Was going to goto a meet tonight but we are just too tired! Only 9 pm but I can not stop yawning. Too much partying this week LOL! I am already planning a return trip for the big S2000 Homecoming event of 2009. Probably going to fly out again and save gas/hotel costs - 2800 miles from VT to CA is a long way to drive :)

FRIDAY 8/8

Saw 2 more S on the way to the airport! One silly guy had CR badges on the car but it wasn't one ;) OMG LAX is a BIG scary place!!! Sign says go upstairs then downstairs, then lady says go to another location to check bags... at least they took my bag upon checkin which I gather does not always happen right way. United was very nice to me :) Funniest part was the kid coming up to Patty and saying "Didn't you bring brownies to the S2000 meet" :)

Spent a little extra time at Dulles (DC) because of a maintenance issue earlier in the day... boarding times were cut back for all flights in the hour plus I spent there and we rolled out only 15 minutes late. There was a huge line of planes ahead and after us waiting to take off. I don't think they usually run them that close, they were taking off within 2-3 minutes of each other, one after the other... it was SO cool to watch especially at night! Still ended up in Albany on time.

The little plane from Dulles back to Albany was very cool. Only one seat on one side, two on the other. I got a window and aisle seat. Saw fireworks from above which was really cool. Loved the take offs, landings were fine, first one spoiled me though it was SO gentle. All the rest were a bit bumpy, but since they could re-use the plane, I count them as ALL good landings ;) Even had a cute young male steward(?) on the final flight. I tried to get him to "show me the bathroom" but I think he plays for the other team ;) LOL! At least I shocked him :D

Albany is a nice small friendly place, unlike LAX LOL! My luggage arrived with me - yeah! - and my Civic was parked out front ready to go at ParkRideFly when I arrived there a little after midnight. Got home about 1 and slept in. Going to be a few days before the time change stops kicking my butt I think :)

Thank you Patty sweety for a WONDERFUL vacation I will never forget!

Here's Jerry's NFR S :) Including his and Patty's I saw 5 total since I have been in Cali :) I tried to wave to the Silverstone driver on 405 but he refused to check out the two hot chicks in a RAV4 :(

Patty in her Suzuka baby :)

We drove through Hollywood and Sunset and Vine, had a late lunch (breakfast) at IHOP in Hollywood.

And more important than all the silly Hollywood stuff - Torrance Blvd (Where the biggest Honda facility in the US is) :)

One of the MANY buildings Honda has in Torrance.

My room and bathroom are like a fancy hotel suite! I may not come back to New England ;) LOL!

Patty and I had two "little" Margaritas with dinner ;) Poor Jerry only had one :D Did a fun drive in the S after dinner, came back to the house and polished off more champagne (I could really get used to this) ;)

This poor bird can't read :D Or maybe he's protesting the sign ;)

Photo off Patty's balcony... the lake you see in the background is the same lake we sat next to at dinner last night!

Laguna Beach from above, at Montage Resort. Gorgeous place! We spent a couple hours here, I swam in the Pacific ocean for the first time!

One from Patty at Laguna Beach - what a gorgeous place!

Another pic at the beach.

Yet another pic at the beach :)

From the plane, looking down at clouds, wow! I will never look up at them the same way again... took a few other shots but this is my favorite.
